Block of the Month Classes:

“Bow Diddley” Block of the Month

Paula and Dianne will begin their first block of the month quilt together in January! This year’s sampler quilt was designed by Jerry Stube and features 13 unique 12” blocks. With two different setting options, you can choose to make your quilt simple with strip borders, or sassy with a sweet swag inner border and a gently scalloped outer border. In addition to a demonstration of the tips and tricks we used to make that month’s block(s), you’ll also receive a bonus table runner pattern. You get to choose the color palette and fabric you’d like to work with. This quilt is fat quarter friendly so you can choose a new line of fabric to feature in your quilt or raid your stash and add more variety as necessary.

Our program is designed for the advanced beginner to intermediate quilter and will focus on precision cutting, piecing and pressing so that this quilt and all your future quilts will go together with ease. You will learn fool-proof, accurate rotary cutting skills, how to obtain the perfect seam allowance, and pinning and pressing techniques. Paula and Dianne will share their quick, easy and accurate methods for making elements of various other quilt blocks including half-square triangles, flying geese, triangles within squares, divided rectangles and more! This is the perfect opportunity to hone your quilting skills, learn new techniques for faster and easier piecing (and maybe a little appliqué if you’re interested), and make this beautiful quilt one block at a time! Classes meet on the first Friday afternoon and Saturday morning of each month—you can choose which session works best for you. One-time fee of $110 for 12-month program; pattern sold separately.

You can choose to complete your quilt using hand or machine applique or a combination of both. Each month you’ll receive a colorful packet of “American Jane” fabrics designed by Sandy Klop and your pattern which features a full size drawing and large color photo of that month’s block.
